Morphology/Character
Members of this genus posses a pair of light organs on their ink sac. The fins are two thirds the body length. This squid also gets treated under the generic names Loligo and Photololigo.
Biology
It is also harvested using purse-seines, dip and cast nets. lights are used at night to attract the squid in some of these fisheries.
