Environment/Habitat
This moderate size cuttlefish occurs on sandy seafloors from around 10 to 100 m. It moving into the shallows in spring to spawn on seaweeds and sunken branches.
Importance/Value
It is the most common cuttlefish in trawl catches of western Japan.
